Happy 96th Birthday, Nancy

I apologize for the long absence in my posting. I was busy preparing for a long break and then came the  6 weeks away, Christmas and New Year and finally, I'm back to posting an update!

Dorcas had a 'break up' party on the last Thursday of November 2012 and will reopen on 7 February. But few of the Dorcas ladies were back last week and today for some spring cleaning before the new year begins and it was great seeing everyone again.

Today, we had a lovely time as we celebrated the birthday of the most 'senior' member in Dorcas. We thank God for Nancy who has been such a blessing and inspiration to all of us. I was shocked to see the birthday candles as I always think Nancy is at least 15 years of more younger.

God is good and we wish Nancy a very blessed '96th' birthday!

I'm often inspired and amazed by the talents of the Dorcas ladies. Here are some of the lovely and beautiful handiwork done at Dorcas... thank God for using us in big and small ways... 

This is Emma... the beautiful granny squares were amazing! I can't imagine the smiles of the recipient of this beautiful baby blankie.

What a great use of colours!

I'm not sure who knitted this but it's just beautiful - love those colours, motifs and patterns... God bless those hands!

And this is the beautiful lady (her name is Doris) who clothed these second hand dolls... what talent and gifting she has! It just reminded me that everyone of us has a gift within us.

Happy Birthday, Ladies!

Dorcas is not just about missions. It's a place where the spirit of caring and loving is evident. Few weeks ago, we celebrated the 70th birthday of Jenny and Florann.... as well as the birthday of our leader, Kathy. It was a beautiful occasion where laughter, smiles and gladness filled the air.
